Kaceys a Poco Leo is my favorite little reject paint. He is an APHA/AQHA gelding out of Royal Black Eagle (black/white tobiano stud) and Kits Lil Dunbar (dun quarter horse mare). Unfortunately for KBarB Ranch, Kacey came out a solid dun in a world of painted ponies; His fate as a gelding was sealed as soon as his front feet hit the ground.
Lucky for me, though, since I wouldn't be his proud owner today if he'd come out with spots!
Ever since that first day we've been on one adventure after another. Showing in local and regional Walk-Trot-Canter and Western Pleasure competitions; running along the beaches of the Atlantic ocean; jousting and competing in medieval games across the country. We've lived in Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Missouri. And have traveled to thrice that number! We look forward to visiting even more places before our time together is up.
Kacey is also known as Kacey of the Flaming Hooves, The Ippo Proti of Calontir (i.e. The First Horse of Calontir) for his service to the people of the Kingdom of Calontir within the Society for Creative Anachronism. This blog will contain many of our medieval adventures and lessons learned!
